We grew up watching your movies and thought nothing of your inevitable death. When we were children we assumed that you were immortal, a permanent fixture in our entertainment world. It’s strange, some people have perceived that what you did was fictional, but to us, the people that you influenced during our formative years, your work was real, in our eyes you were every character that you portrayed. You have shocked the entire world with your passing, the entire planet is heartbroken; we could not have imagined it. Not then, not now.

I would watch you play Peter Pan and that warm tingly sensation of inspiration flooded my soul. I felt the same way when you played Patch Adams, Mrs. Doubtfire, and who could forget Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting. You were a beacon of life lessons through your work, I can’t believe you’re gone. You’ve inspired an entire generation of actors, film directors craved your brilliance; parents, kids, and even our pets, have watched you in awe for decades.
